She is the controlling owner and president of the National Basketball Association (NBA) team Los Angeles Lakers. She has always had an interest in becoming an entrepreneur since she was young. She started becoming active in her family’s business from a young age. She would attend World Team Tennis meetings with her father when she was only 14 years old.

At the age of 19, she became the general manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. She later owned the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey team. In 1999, she became the Executive Vice President of Business Operations of the Lakers. After the demise of her father, Jeanie and her siblings inherited the 66% controlling shares, Jeanie taking over as the president.
