Jacquelyn Davette Velasquez was born on October 15, 1979 in Houston, Texas. She is best known as Jaci Velasquez. She is an actress, voice actress, Contemporary Christian & Latin pop singer and songwriter. She performs in English and Spanish. Velasquez started her career in 2003. She has appeared in Chasing Papi (2003), Doc, Los Reyes Magos (2003), The Encounter (2011), Jerusalem Countdown (2011), Rumors of Wars (2014), Veggie Tales: Noah’s Ark (2015), I’m Not Ashamed (2016), and A Question of Faith (2017).
For her music, Velasquez won the Dove Awards 8 times. She was also nominated for a Grammy Award three times, Latin Billboard Award five times and American Music Award once. She performed at the White House in 2002. Velasquez and Doug Griffin both co-host a morning radio program that they started in 2010.
