Heavygrinder, also styled HEAVYGRINDER to avoid confusion with the DJ of the same name, is an American duo, based in Los Angeles. The duo is composed of DJ Heavygrinder, which real name is Bobbie Merveille, and her sidekick Nek0. Merveille was born in 1983 in Seattle, Washington, U.S, from a Japanese mother and a French father. Her cultural mix has played a major influence in her music, as she experiments with traditional sounds from Japan as well as electro house and trance beats. As a duo, they have made remixes of bands like Thy Art is Murder, and DJ Bl3nd. They are also considered pioneers in the electro metal genre, by remixing heavy metal classics such as Cannibal Corpse’s “Demented Agression”. They have performed at major festivals such as EDC, Anime Expo and Coachella.
