Sooraj Cherukat, known professionally as Hanumankind, was born in Malappuram, Kerala. His father worked for an oil company, and he spent much of his early years in Houston, Texas, where he attended Houston Community College. In 2012, he returned to India and enrolled at PSG College in Coimbatore to pursue a degree in Business Administration, later interning at Goldman Sachs in 2014.
Hanumankind released his first single, "Daily Dose," from his debut EP Kalari in 2019. He gained mainstream popularity in India and internationally with his track "Big Dawgs," which debuted at number 57 on the US Billboard Hot 100. His breakthrough came with the 2023 track "Go To Sleep," featuring music by Parimal Shais. In 2024, he released another track titled "Big Dawgs," produced by Kalmi under Brown Crew Productions and released through Universal Music India, which has been recognized as his biggest hit so far.
