Grupo Fantasma is a group of nine individuals from Austin, Texas that are known for their Latin funk music. Their shows are known for being very entertaining, and they worked extensively with the highly famous late musician, Prince. They even backed him when he performed in 2007 at the ALMA Awards, and they were usually invited to play at his after-parties.

Grupo Fantasma has sold over 20,000 albums and they have played several prominent festivals, including the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Bonnaroo, and the North Sea Jazz Festival. They also taped an episode of Austin City Limits TV, which ran on PBS in 2007. They have been inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame in Texas as well as received numerous Austin Music Awards. Their top awards include a Grammy nomination for their album Sonidos Gold and a Grammy win for their album El Existential.
