Grizzly Bear is an American indie rock band formed in 2002 in Brooklyn, New York. After singer Edward Droste and multi-instrumentalist Christopher Bear came together, the band issued its 2004 debut “Horn of Plenty”. Shortly after, the duo recruited multi-instrumentalist/producer Chris Taylor, and guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Daniel Rossen for a live show, and the new lineup went on to record “Yellow House” in 2006. The band got its commercial breakthrough after touring with Radiohead in 2009 with the album “Veckatimest”. The release featured collaborations with Nico Muhly and Victoria Legrand, and peaked at number 8 in Billboard’s 200. A subsequent collaboration with Legrand saw the song “Slow Life” featuring on the soundtrack to the feature film “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”. In the early 2010s, Grizzly Bear’s members pursued solo projects, but in 2013 the band reunited and released their sixth album “Shields”, followed by 2017’s “Painted Ruins”.
