Grant Dean Williams is an American professional basketball player, born on November 30, 1998, in Houston, Texas. He is best known as a member of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Grant started playing basketball in elementary school in Charlotte, North Carolina. He later played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers where he immediately made an impact being an All-SEC player in his freshman, sophomore, and junior year. He received an award as back-to-back SEC Player of the Year for two seasons in 2018 and 2019, becoming the first player to do so since Corliss Williamson in 1995. He was drafted 22nd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics and coach Danny Ainge. Grant signed for the NBA team on July 11, 2019.
