About Glenn Hughes
Glenn Hughes, born on August 21st, 1951 in Cannock, England is a British rock bass player and vocalist, and active session musician. In 1960 he became the frontman for the band Finders Keepers and the funk rock band Trapeze. Finders Keepers released several singles, with their most notable being 1968’s “The Cleaning Lady.” As part of the band Trapeze, Hughes released three albums: Trapeze in 1970, Medusa in the same year, and You Are the Music…We’re Just the Band in 1972.
In 1973 Glenn was recruited to the band Deep Purple as lead vocalist. He stayed on to record 5 albums with Deep Purple. Those albums include the likes of Who Do We Think We Are (1973), Burn (1974), Stormbringer (1974) and Come Taste the Band (1975). In 1982 he formed the band Hughes/Thrall. The band released one self-titled album and then dissolved. In the 1980’s Glenn bounced around multiple bands playing with the likes of Phenomena, Gary Moore and Black Sabbath.
In 1991, after an absence of a few years, Glenn returned to music with the song “America: What Time is Love?” with the band KLF. He then embarked on a solo career that resulted in the release of a total of 26 albums mixed with a combination of EPs, LPs, and live albums.
