Fleetwood Mac is British-American rock and folk rock that formed in 1967. Having sold more than 120 million records globally, Fleetwood Mac is one of the best selling bands in history best known for their singles ‘Dreams’, ‘Anywhere’ and ‘Go Your Own Way’. The band’s founders are guitarists Peter Green (October 29, 1946) & Jeremy Cedric Spencer (July 4, 1948), and drummer Mick Fleetwood (June 24, 1947). The band then recruited Christine Perfect (July 12, 1943) on keyboards and John McVie (November 26, 1945) on guitar whom Christine eventually married. Starting of as a British blues band, the band started their career off with their successful number one hit in the UK, ‘Albatross’. By 1974, Spencer and Green left the band and were replaced by folk-rock duo Stephanie ‘Stevie’ Nicks (May 26, 1948) and Lindsey Adams Buckingham (October 3, 1949). The mixture of Fleetwood Mac’s bluesy rock and Nicks’ and Buckingham’s folk-pop sound led to a more pop-rock sound for their debut release ‘Fleetwood Mac’ in 1975. The album peaked at number 1 in the U.S., bringing the band to breakthrough success. Their follow up album, ‘Rumours’, arrived in 1978 which earned the band their first Grammy award for Album of The Year that same year. The band produced three more albums together – ‘Tusk’ in 1979, ‘Mirage’ in 1982 and ‘Tango in the Night’ in 1987 – while also working on their own solo projects. Although Fleetwood Mac rose to fame, the band had difficulty keeping a stable line-up through the 1990’s and focused on their solo albums. The band’s iconic soft rock melodies led to their induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Fleetwood Mac reunited for a global tour in 2018 – 2019 along with the release of ’50 Years: Don’t Stop’ of all their classical hits. Throughout their career, the band received 3 American Music Awards and 4 other nominations, 1 Brit Award and 1 Grammy Award and 5 other nominations and 1 Juno Award and 1 nomination.
