Shauna McKenzie Etana, better known as simply Etana, is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, activist, and producer who creates reggae music infused with the sounds of soul and jazz. She arrived on the music scene with a great big bang, and has only continued to gain momentum since.
Etana’s 2006 debut single, “Wrong Address” reached the number one spot on several different music charts. In 2008, Etana won the awards for ‘Best Female Vocalist’ at both the Excellence In Music Awards and Irie FM Radio Awards. That same year, she released The Strong One LP. This was followed in 2011 by the Free Expressions album, and in 2013 by A Better Tomorrow. Her latest album, I Rise, was released in 2016.
