The indie folk/rock band known as Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros was formed in 2007, and is comprised of Alex Ebert, Stewart Cole, Josh Collazo, Orpheo McCord, Christian Letts, Seth Ford-Young, Mark Noseworthy, Christopher Richard, and Mitchell Yoshida. The namesake for the group, Edward Sharpe, is based on a messianic book character that Ebert invented, and when he teamed up with what would eventually become his bandmates, they released their debut album Up From Below in 2009. In the spring of 2011, the band had the opportunity to go on tour alongside Mumford & Sons and Old Crow Medicine Show. They followed this tour – which was caught on tape for a documentary entitled Big Easy Express – with their second album Here. Though the band experienced some flux when it came to the members, they solidified as of 2014 with the lineup listed above. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros also released a third album in 2013, which was self-titled.
