Dr. Dog is an American rock band who has been active since 2001 to present. The band was formed by vocalists and guitarists Scott McMicken and bassist Toby Leaman. Eventually, the two met keyboardist Zach Miller, drummer Ted Mark and guitarist Doug O’Donnell. Their self-recorded and self-released album was released in 2001 titled ‘The Psychedelic Swamp’. Following their first release, Dr. Dog released their second album, ‘Toothbrush’ in 2002. The band grew popular in Philadelphia until 2006, when Dr. Dog was asked to be on My Morning Jacket show which led to their signing with Park the Van Records. Dr. Dog released their EP ‘Takers and Leavers’ in 2006 followed by ‘We All Belong’ in 2007. By 2009, Dr. Dog moved on to ANTI- Records and released an album titled ‘Shame, Shame’ in 2010. In 2012, the band released ‘Be The Void’ and ‘B-Room’ in 2013 while touring globally. By 2015, the band revisited their first album, ‘The Psychedelic Swamp’ and re-released it by 2016 which became very popular online. Their most recent album, ‘Critical Equation’, is said by Dr. Dog themselves is “exactly what they wanted and more”. The band has currently over 1 million monthly listeners with over 26 million plays on their song, ‘Where’d All The Time Go?’.
