Don Henley is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer born in Gilmer, Texas on July 22, 1947. He is best known as a founding member of the American rock band the Eagles and has been the only consistent member of the band since its formation. He was the co-lead vocalist and drummer for the band from 1971 to 1980 and from 1994 to 2016. The band won six Grammy Awards and has sold over 150 million albums worldwide. In 1998 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Henley sang the lead vocals for the songs “Desperado”, “One of These Nights”, “Witchy Woman”, “Best of My Love”, “Get Over It”, “Hotel California”, “The Long Run”, and “Life in the Fast Lane.” After the band broke up the first time in 1980 Don pursued a solo career and released his debut album in 1982 titled I Can’t Stand Still. He has since released the albums Building the Perfect Beast, The End of the Innocence, Inside Job, and Class County. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards for his solo work and has won 2 Grammy Awards, a MusiCares Person of the Year Award, two MTV Music Video Awards, a Trailblazer Award and more.
