Destructo is the stage name adopted by American executive musician, DJ and entertainment promoter Gary Richards. He was born on December 31, 1970 in Washington, D.C., United States. Richards has performed under the pseudonym of Destructo for more than 20 years. He is also the founder of HARD Events, a brand that has organized music festivals since 2007. Richards is credited with having been the leader of the electronic music business in the United States and that through his events he helped at the time emerging artists like Deadmau5 and Justice to break in the electronic scene. He is considered by the Rolling Stone magazine to be one of the 50 most influential people in Electro Dance Music and he has featured the list of “EMD Powerful Players” from 2014 to 2017. With the name of Destructo, Richards has produced four titled EPs “Technology”, “Superior”, “West Coast” and “RENEGADE” respectively.
