Deacon Blue is a Pop/Rock band within the Contemporary and adult contemporary genre. The group was formed in 1985 in Scotland. The group consists of six members, Dougie Vipond (54 years born on 15 October 1966), James Prime (60 years old born 3 November 1960), Lorraine mcIntosh (56 years born 13 May 1964), and Ricky Ross (63 years old born 22 December 1957). Most members were born in Scotland and situated themselves in the city of Glasgow - where they met and formed Deacon Blue.
The group’s debut album was labeled by Sony Music Distribution and titled Raintown, released in 1987. After their debut they released 11 albums. Their latest album Riding on the Tide of Love was released in 2021. Deacon Blue was nominated for British Single of the Year in 1989 at the BRIT awards for their hit song Real gone Kid.
