Daryl Braithwaite was born on the 11th of January 1949 in Melbourne and is an Australian country singer and songwriter. Starting a mainstream music career when he joined the pop band Sherbet in 1970, the twenty one year old remained with the band, releasing albums with the band while simultaneously pursuing a solo career.

Braithwaite’s debut single, a cover version of, You’re my World, went number one for three weeks. With seven solo albums released thus far, his latest albums, The Lemon Tree and Forever the Tourist have both been considerable successes. With hit singles over the years such as You’re My World, One Summer, Rise, Beautiful Feeling and Not Too Late. In 2017, Braithwaite was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
