Connor Fields is an American professional BMX rider, born on September 14, 1992, in Plano, Texas. He is best known for becoming the first American to win Olympic gold in the men’s BMX event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Previously, he represented the U.S. at the 2012 Olympic Games, where he competed against Liam Phillips, but finished 7th. He was also the USA Cycling BMX national champion that same year.

Connor started riding bicycles when he was very young, and in 2011 he was Golden Crank Rookie of the Year. He attended the University of Nevada, to study Business. He won gold at the Pan American Games in 2011. At the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, he suffered a brain hemorrhage at the semifinals. The same day cyclist Saya Sakakibara was also injured in the semifinals event, and the Olympic committee wished them a fast recovery.
