About Clara Mae
Clara Mae, born Clara Hagman on July 9th, 1991 in Gavle, Sweden is a Swedish singer. He musical career began with her singing in vocal competitions around 2002. She participated in the competition
Lilla Melodifestivalen with the song “Hej, vem är du” and placed fourth. In 2008 she competed in the first season of the Next Star competition with the song “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton. She finished second overall. In 2009 she competed on Idol and entered the semifinals singing “Warwick Avenue” by Duffy and “Release Me” by Oh Laura.
In 2009 Clara was recruited by Ulf Ekberg and Jonas Berggen of the band Ace of Base. Clara, along with another singer by name of Julia Williamson, was recruited to replace the founding members of Ace of Base, Jenny Berggren and Linn Berggren. The band released their first album under the new lineup in 2010 entitled The Golden Ratio.
In 2012 Clara left Ace of Base to pursue a solo career. She changed her stage name to Clara Mae in the same year. She then released her debut single “Changing Faces.” In 2015 she released another single called “Avalon.” In 2016 Clara was a featured artist on the song “Chemistry” by Steve Void and No Mondays. In late 2016 and early 2017 Clara collaborated with the DJ duo KREAM to release the songs “Taped Up Heart” and “Drowning.”
