About Cassius
Music duo Cassius consists of Phillippe Cerboneschi (Phillippe Zdar) and Hubert Blanc-Francard (Boom Bass). They formed in 1988 in Paris, France.
Cassius began working together in 1988 producing albums together for MC Solaar. Their first published single, “Foxxy,” was released in 1996 and was the start of them using the name Cassius. Their first hit single, “Cassius 1999,” was released in 1999 and debuted at number seven on the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album, “1999,” followed shortly after the single’s release. In 2002, they released their second album, “Au Reve,” which featured tracks with Jocelyn Brown, Steve Edwards, Ghostface KIllah, and Leroy Burgess. “15 Again,” their third album, was released in 2006 and featured the single, “Toop Toop.” Their song, “Why I Love You,” was sampled by Jay-Z and Kanye West on their collaboration album, “Watch the Throne.” In addition to MC Solaar, they have produced tracks for OneRepublic, Drake, Sinclair, Melaaz, Phoenix, Cut Copy, Chromeo, Two Door Cinema Club, The Rapture, and Kindness.
