Cassian is an Australian DJ and electronic music producer. He was born Cassian Stewart-Kasimba on the 23rd of August, 1988, in Sydney, Australia. Cassian has a background as a pianist, as well as a guitarist, which provides him with a songwriter perspective when he mixes. He started his career mostly by doing remixes in the early 2010, and soon he gained recognition as one of the best DJs in Australia. Cassian has worked with labels such as Sweat it Out and Nurvous Records, but it was truly in 2018 when he made his big breakthrough, when he started working with RÜFÜS DU SOL on their label Rose Avenue. He also joined the trio on the “SOLACE” tour. Cassian has toured all over the world, and one of his major shows was in 2019 at the Coachella festival. In 2019, he was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category Best Dance Recording for his song “Underwater”.
