Carlos Enrique Mata Iturrzia, commonly known as Carlos Mata, is a Venezuelan television singer and actor born on 28th August 1952 in Caracas, Venezuela. He is best known for his outstanding career in Venezuelan telenovelas for Venezolana de Televisión, Radio Caracas Televisión, and Venevisión. Specifically, he put on an exceptional performance in the telenovelas “Cristal” (1985), “Déjate Querer” (1993), and “Dos Mujeres” (1997). Mata has played the protagonist in 9 telenovelas, including “La Dama de Rosa” (1986), “Señora” (1988), “Déjate Querer” (1993), “Las dos Dianas” (1992), and “Enamorada” (1999).
In 1985, his music album, “Que por que te Quiero,” stayed on the Billboard charts for four months. He shared the stage with top artists such as Miami Sound Machine, Miguel Bosé, Lola Flores, Celia Cruz, Julio Iglesias, Joaquin Sabina, and Brigitte Nielsen. He is the co-host of a talk show, “La Rosa y el Azul,” in Miami, Florida, broadcast on the Gems cable channel.
