Candide Thovex is a professional skier and filmmaker born on 22nd May 1982 in Annecy, Haute-Savoie, France. He is widely recognized for his creative freestyle skiing movies. He signed his first contract with the sports brand Quicksilver in 1997. Three years later, he returned to the U.S. to take part in Gravity Games in Mammoth, California. In 2007, he competed in Slopestyle, winning his third gold medal with a score of 95/100.

He suffered an injury but returned in 2008 and signed with Coreupt skis. After winning several freestyle contests, he returned to competition in 2010. He was invited to compete in the Red Bull Line Catcher in Vars, France. He was unsure whether he had the ability to compete with other professionals, but to his surprise, he won the contest. He later competed at the Freeride World Tour (FWT) and won the competition.
