Burt Reynolds was an American actor, director and producer. He was born Burton Leon Reynolds Jr. on the 11th of February, 1936, in Lansing, Michigan, U.S. His career took off in 1953, when he was casted in the stage play “Tea and Sympathy”. He came to prominence for the first time in the 1960s when he appeared in a variety of different television shows, such as “Gunsmoke”, “Hawk”, and “Dan August”, among others. Reynolds appeared in many western roles, often playing the part of half of a native American descent, in movies such as “100 Rifles” and “Navajo Joe”. He had a major break when he portrayed Lewis Medlock in the movie “Deliverance” in 1972. Reynolds starred the film “Boogie Nights” in 1997, and subsequently he received twelve acting awards and three nominations for the role, as well as a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, Reynolds’ first nomination for the award. He released a country album in 1973, titled “Ask Me What I Am”. Reynolds died on September 6, 2018.
