Blues Traveler is an American Blues-rock and jam band formed in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1987. It originally consisted of singer/harmonica player John Popper, guitarist Chan Kinchla, bassist Bobby Sheehan, and drummer Brendan Hill. The band made its debut with an eponymous full-length album in 1990, followed a year later by the “Travelers & Thieves” LP. The quartet’s charting debut came with 1993’s pressing “Save His Soul”, which made it into Billboard’s Top 100. Prompted by their 1995 hit single “Run-Around”, the band’s next album “Four” achieved quintuple platinum status. 1997’s “Straight on Till Morning” became the last studio effort featuring bassist Sheehan, who passed away in 1999. The early 2000s came with a string of long-players, including “Bridge” (2001), “Truth Be Told” (2003), and “Bastardos!” (2004), and two live albums. The band then turned to retrospective material, with a compilation of acoustic rendition of their own hits titled “Cover Yourself”, followed by the 25th-anniversary commemorative “25”. Later in 2012, Blues Traveler featured the talents of Ron Sexsmith and Crystal Bowersox in their 11th effort “Suzie Cracks the Whip”. “Blow Up The Moon” (2015) also came with guest spots from Jewel and JC Chasez, among others.
