Found in 2001, the Black Stone Cherry came from Edmonton, Kentucky. Band members said that they formed the band because of the rich musical background in their community aside from the lack of doing anything. Members Chris Robertson, John Fred Young, Ben Wells, and Jon Lawhon began to hold shows in their local area.
Their self-title debut album was recorded under the In de Goot/Roadrunner Records. The band had a homecoming concert in high school after the recording. The album was released in 2006. In 2008, “Folklore and Superstition” followed, performing great in the charts in America and Europe. Their third album “Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea,” was able to peak in the Top 40s in album charts. Their latest release was the self-produced album “Kentucky” released in April 2016.
