Birds of Tokyo is a Pop/Rock band within the Alternative/Indie Rock genre. The group was formed in 2004 in Perth Australia. The group consists of Adam Spark, Glenn Sarangapany, Ian Kenny, Adam Weston, and Ian Berney. The group’s debut album titled Universes was released in 2008. After their debut, they released 7 more albums. Two of the albums Birds of Tokyo released in 2010 and March Fires released in 2013 were labeled by EMI. The Birds of Tokyo album reached double-platinum status and won them the ARIA for Best Rock Album Award in 2010. In 2019, their song Good Lord was nominated for the ARIA Award for Best Group and ARIA Award for Song of the Year, while 2020 saw the same song nominated for Most Performed Australian Work of the Year and Most Performed Alternative Work of the Year at the APRA Music Awards.
