Baby Rasta & Gringo are a reggaeton duo from Puerto Rico consisting of Wilmer Alicea (“Baby Rasta”) and Samuel Gerena (“Grino”). The duo is responsible for the massive hit single “El Carnaval,” which has been widely recognized as the greatest reggaeton song in history.
Baby Rasta & Gringo first hit the music scene in 1998 with their debut album, New Prophecy. The duo were silent for a few years following, until they released their second album, Fire Level, in 2003. This was quickly followed in 2004 by Sentencindos, before they once again fell out of the limelight.
The reggaeton duo can lay fame to YouTube infamy. An incredibly large number of their music videos have over the notorious one million mark, and an astonishing four of their songs have over ten million views. These include “Que Sera de Mi,” “Un Beso,” “Anda Lucia (Lost Cotizados),” and “Amor Prohibido.”
