Vasil Troyanov Boyanov, better known by his stage name Azis, is a Bulgarian singer and songwriter who has gained international recognition for his pop-folk music. He was born in Sliven, Bulgaria, on March 7, 1978.
Azis began his music career in the 1990s, performing in clubs and on television shows. He soon gained a following in Eastern Europe, where he became known for his energetic performances and flamboyant style.
Azis is perhaps best known for his contributions to chalga music, a genre that mixes Bulgarian folk music with pop and dance elements. He has released numerous hit singles, including Sen Trope, MMA, Kazhi Chestno, Habibi, and Nyama Nakade, among others. Azis has also released several successful albums, including Gadna Poroda, Na golo, and Mazhete sashto plachat.
In 2006, Azis represented Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest, where he performed Let Me Cry with Mariana Popova.
