Swedish DJ and producer Axwell was born Axel Christofer Hedfors on December 18, 1977, in the city of Lund. By the time he was 9, he had already taught himself how to play the drums, and when he embarked on his teenage years, he switched over to the computer to allow himself the resource to create electronic music. Axwell began gaining attention of electronic music fans and DJs in 2004 with the release of his song “Feel the Vibe”, a song which shot to the #1 spot on the UK Dance Singles chart. The song also charted in Finland, France, and the Netherlands by the summer of 2005. After his initial success with the single, Axwell went on to create popular remixes of songs by Usher, Nelly Furtado, Madonna, Faith Evans, and N.E.R.D, to name a few.
Axwell went on to remix the song “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap along with Dirty South, a mix which got them nominated at the Grammy Awards for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. Axwell would go on to receive four more Grammy Award nominations for the remix work he produced alongside other prominent DJs. Between 2005 and 2013, Axwell released a total of ten singles, all of which did extremely well in the electronic music arena.
