Angela Zhou is a Chinese-born actress who was born in Guangzhou, China but was raised in Auckland, New Zealand. She learned Mandarin from her mother and Cantonese from her father. Angela discovered acting from highschool.
Angela then took deep interest in musicals, improvisionation comedy, classical drama, writing and directing as well. Owing to her interest in Shakespearean productions, she trained and performed with SGCNZ’s Young Shakespeare Company at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London. She later moved to the United States and studied at Duke University as a Robertson Scholar. She later graduate with an A.B. degree majoring in Politics, Economics and Creative Media. She is famous for her big break on AMC’s Hell on Wheels (2011).
