Alison Limerick was born in 1959 in Stepney, London. She is a British singer that made an impact on club dance music in the 1990’s. Prior to her solo career she appeared as a backup vocalist in the 1980’s. Alison sang on Style Council’s album Our Favourite Shop in 1985 and on This Mortal Coil’s two albums: Filigree & Shadow in 1986 and Blood in 1991.

As a solo artist, Alison is known for her work on 90’s club anthems. The track “Where Love Lives” was a success when it was released in 1991 peaking at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 after 16 weeks on the chart. The song was remixed in 1996 and it again charted and peaked at number 4. In 1992 her single “Make It On My Own” charted in at number 16 on the UK Pop Charts. The same year Alison released her debut album And Still I Rise.

Alison released three more albums throughout the 90’s in the UK: With a Twist, Club Classics, and Spirit Rising. During the 90’s she worked with songwriters and artists like George Michael, Lamont Dozier, and Courtney Pine. She continues to make music to this day with her band and solo appearances.
