Actor, author, and producer Simu Liu has signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for representation in all areas. Agents Dahbin Han and Adam Schweitzer will oversee his motion picture and television packaging. Liu remains with 1v1 Entertainment for management and The Lede Company for public relations.

Liu rose to international fame starring in Marvel Studios’ 2021 release Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The project made history as the studio’s first Asian-led superhero film and collected over $432 million worldwide during a sluggish box office recovery. Liu is set to reprise the superhero role in the tentpole ensemble Avengers: Doomsday, arriving in theaters on December 18, 2026.

Beyond the superhero genre, Liu continues to diversify his creative portfolio. He starred as Rival Ken in the Warner Bros. blockbuster Barbie and recently wrapped filming on director Xavier Gens’ sci-fi thriller Homewrecker.

On the small screen, Liu executive produced and headlined the Peacock espionage thriller The Copenhagen Test. He also made his Broadway debut at the Lyceum Theatre in early 2026, playing Mary’s Teacher in the Tony Award-winning hit Oh, Mary!.

Outside of acting, Liu wrote the bestselling memoir We Were Dreamers, invests via Markham Valley Ventures, and serves as Chief Content Officer for food company MìLà.

The signing marks another major talent addition for WME, continuing an aggressive recruiting push across multiple sectors. The agency recently brought on Noah Wyle to bolster his television and producing slate, alongside veteran comedic talent Leah Remini and touring stand-up powerhouse Nikki Glaser.

Takeaways

Signing Simu Liu gives WME a bankable leading man right as he heads into Marvel’s Phase Six tentpole cycle.

Liu has spent the last three years proving he is not just a franchise action star. By handling stage comedy on Broadway, studio comedies like Barbie, and producing dramatic television on Peacock, he has built real range.

WME’s packaging power will help Liu translate his on-screen momentum into first-look production deals, brand-building ventures, and prestige drama roles.

The move also signals WME’s focus on securing multi-hyphenate stars who operate fluidly across traditional studio films, equity-backed investments, and creator-led commerce.

Will WME secure a formal studio first-look deal for Liu’s production banner ahead of Avengers: Doomsday? Could WME look to package Liu in more Broadway or live stage productions after his run in Oh, Mary!? How will WME leverage Liu’s executive role at MìLà to build out larger culinary, lifestyle, and consumer products?
