  • Brighton dream-pop/indie artist Opal Mag has signed with Upsurge Artists for live music and touring representation across Europe and the UK.
  • Agent Elle will handle her bookings in both territories.
  • The deal follows the May 29 release of her debut EP, Goodbye Lavender, via Venn Records.
  • She joins an Upsurge roster that recently added cherry pick and already includes Dear Seattle.

Brighton-based artist Opal Mag has signed with independent agency Upsurge Artists for live music and touring representation across Europe and the UK, with agent Elle overseeing her bookings in both territories.

The deal lands as Opal Mag rides the momentum of her debut EP, Goodbye Lavender, released May 29 via Venn Records. Pulling from Mazzy Star, The Sundays, The Breeders, and The Smashing Pumpkins, the six-track record leans into her hazy, atmospheric sound and confessional songwriting, recorded with producer Harry Jordan (The Big Moon) at Bam Bam Studios in Norfolk.

Before this signing, Opal Mag largely self-booked her own shows, once pulling together a debut gig in four weeks flat without even a settled band lineup.

That DIY hustle carried her through early slots at Bristol’s Ritual Union and London’s Footsteps Festival, plus support runs alongside Black Honey, Overpass and Phoebe Green.

Founded by Eddie Griffiths in 2022, Upsurge Artists has grown into a five-agent UK/EU operation with an alternative-leaning roster that already includes Dear Seattle.

The agency just added Vancouver grunge-gaze act cherry pick for the same Europe/UK territory this June, in a deal led by agency director Lee Bowyer.

This is part of a wider 2026 pattern: Mikaela Davis signed with Free Trade Agency and bby signed with ROAM, both locking in specialist European touring partners as UK and EU festival circuits keep pulling in more international indie acts.

Takeaways

This is a classic “scale-up” moment. Opal Mag went from booking her own DIY gigs to landing dedicated agency representation right as her debut EP dropped; that timing isn’t an accident; it’s a team being built around a release.

For Upsurge, it’s another data point in a clear strategy: stack up promising UK/EU guitar-and-atmosphere acts (Dear Seattle, cherry pick, now Opal Mag) rather than chase one big name.

Will Opal Mag’s 2026 momentum translate into a slot on a bigger UK or European festival bill next summer? With a debut EP now behind her, does a full-length album and a matching European tour come next?
