Heavy metal icons Metallica have teamed up with sportswear titan adidas to launch an exclusive apparel capsule called “Life Burns Faster.” This release marks the first official brand collaboration between the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band and the German athletic label.

The capsule was created to celebrate Metallica’s 24-date residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, which launched on October 1, 2026, and runs through March 13, 2027.

Metallica made history as the very first metal band to play the state-of-the-art venue. Fans at the opening night experienced a massive setlist featuring rarities like “…And Justice for All,” performed for the first time in over twelve years.

The apparel fuses the classic adidas Originals Trefoil logo with signature thrash metal artwork. Standout items include men’s and women’s ringer tees, unisex three-quarter sleeve Cali raglan tops, and junior Cali tees, alongside residency-dated graphic shirts.

Special venue-only pieces are available inside The Sphere and at the Life Burns Faster Experience pop-up at The Venetian, with a wider release available online through adidas.com, Metallica.com, and the adidas CONFIRMED app.

Co-founded by singer-guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, the band’s expansion into lifestyle apparel follows recent commercial partnerships, including a footwear collaboration with Wolverine supporting skilled-trades education.

For adidas, this partnership builds on its rich history of landmark music alliances. The brand pioneered hip-hop streetwear with Run-D.M.C. in the 1980s and entered alternative rock with nu-metal band Korn in 2023.

Takeaways

Concert merchandise is no longer treated as an afterthought or a basic cotton souvenir bought at the exit. By teaming up with adidas, Metallica turns a milestone concert run at The Sphere into a legitimate retail event that resonates with vintage rock purists and streetwear fans alike.

For adidas, welcoming heavy metal into its catalog proves that legacy rock acts carry the same commercial weight and cultural pull as modern hip-hop and pop headliners.

Do you prefer seeing heavy metal artwork paired with classic adidas sportswear, or do you lean toward standard vintage tour shirts? Which hard rock or metal band should adidas collaborate with next?
