The British actress is best known for her breakout role in HBO/BBC’s Industry, for which she won the 2025 BAFTA Television Award for Best Actress. She will next star opposite Henry Cavill and Russell Crowe in Chad Stahelski’s Highlander for Amazon MGM’s United Artists.
Beyond Industry, Abela earned a BAFTA EE Rising Star Award nomination for her starring role as Amy Winehouse in the Focus Features biopic Back to Black, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she also appeared opposite Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender in Steven Soderbergh’s acclaimed spy thriller Black Bag.
