Langley became American Eagle’s “Denim Darling” in February, marking the retailer’s biggest collaboration yet with a headlining country artist.

The timing lined up with her breakout year: she became the first woman to simultaneously top the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts with “Choosin’ Texas.”

Her sophomore album, Dandelion, later debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and she’s currently on her sold-out Dandelion Tour through August.

The partnership built on American Eagle’s other star-driven campaigns. Weeks after Langley’s debut, AE reunited with Sydney Sweeney for a summer 2026 jean-shorts campaign, following her polarizing 2025 “Great Jeans” ads.

AE then added fellow country star Bailey Zimmerman to the Jeans Country lineup and became the exclusive apparel and denim sponsor of Stagecoach, the world’s largest country festival, where Langley performed in a custom AE look.

Langley has kept busy beyond denim, too. In April, she launched a “Be Her” fragrance with Noyz, her first beauty partnership.

For American Eagle, the country-music push sits alongside ambassador deals with NFL star Travis Kelce and soccer star Lamine Yamal, part of a celebrity-driven strategy the company says generated more than 44 billion impressions last year.

Takeaways

American Eagle keeps betting on music-culture crossover, and it’s paying off. After the polarizing but massively viral Sydney Sweeney rollout, teaming up with Ella Langley reads like a calculated pivot toward authenticity, a rising, chart-breaking country artist whose fanbase already associates her with genuine Southern style.

Layering Bailey Zimmerman and a Stagecoach sponsorship on top turns a single campaign into a full “country takeover” for the brand, right as country music is having a serious commercial resurgence.

For Langley, the timing cuts both ways: American Eagle gets a bona fide hitmaker just as she’s breaking chart records, while she gets a national retail platform right as she’s expanding into other lanes, like beauty with Noyz.

How much of Langley’s commercial appeal comes from her music versus her personal style, and does that distinction matter to brand partners? Does stacking multiple celebrity ambassadors (Sweeney, Kelce, Yamal, Zimmerman, Langley) dilute or strengthen American Eagle’s overall brand identity?
