Oscar-winning actress and producer Lupita Nyong’o has been announced as Chanel’s new global brand ambassador. Represented by CAA, Nyong’o has been a friend of the Chanel house for over a decade, frequently gracing red carpets in Chanel’s iconic designs.
Career Highlights: Nyong’o burst onto the global stage with her Academy Award-winning performance in 12 Years a Slave, earning her the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Since then, she has starred in major blockbusters, including Black Panther, the Star Wars saga, and her most recent project, A Quiet Place: Day One. At the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, she voiced the lead character in DreamWorks Animation’s The Wild Robot.
Nyong’o also recently launched her weekly podcast, Mind Your Own, which highlights the stories of African people worldwide in search of love, family, and new beginnings. Next year, she will return to the stage in Twelfth Night at Shakespeare in the Park alongside Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
In addition to acting, Nyong’o is an acclaimed author. Her children’s book Sulwe, addressing colorism, reached number one on The New York Times Best Sellers list for children’s picture books.
