That setup supported her 2022 debut Everything I Know About Love, her 2023 breakthrough Bewitched, and her August 2025 third studio album, A Matter of Time.

Both Bewitched and A Matter of Time earned Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, helping her amass over seven billion combined global streams and more than 25 million social media followers.

Laufey’s existing team will remain in place. Manager Max Gredinger at Foundations Music continues to guide her management strategy, while her live career continues its global push after she recently signed with UTA for global representation across all areas.

She just wrapped her 70-date A Matter of Time global arena tour before 17,000 fans in Mexico City, following sold-out runs at Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl.

Her recent milestones also include publishing the bestselling children’s book Mei Mei the Bunny, earning an Icelandic Knighthood, and curating the fourth annual “A Very Laufey Day” across 75 global cities.

The joint venture unites Verve’s historic jazz prestige, housing classics like Ella Fitzgerald alongside modern stars like Jon Batiste, with Interscope’s pop marketing infrastructure.

Interscope has built similar hybrid partnerships for superstar talent, notably when Megan Thee Stallion signed a distribution deal to secure worldwide scale while preserving creative independence.

Led by Interscope Chairman John Janick and Verve President Jamie Krents, the labels will position Laufey’s orchestral jazz-pop on a broader commercial stage.

Takeaways

Laufey’s joint agreement with Interscope and Verve underscores a decisive shift in modern record label deals. Rather than signing an unproven act to a restrictive developmental contract, Universal Music Group is acquiring an established, arena-headlining powerhouse with over seven billion streams and two Grammy wins built entirely through independent infrastructure.

Partnering with Verve protects her traditional jazz integrity, while Interscope provides the radio promotion, playlisting muscle, and global retail distribution needed to break into Top 40 markets.

The move demonstrates that acoustic jazz and classical-pop are viable commercial formats capable of competing directly with mainstream pop releases when backed by an engaged, digital-native audience.

Will Interscope’s commercial radio promotion push Laufey toward contemporary pop production, or will she maintain her acoustic, orchestral arrangements? Does this joint Verve/Interscope framework establish a new industry model for cross-genre acoustic and classical artists seeking mainstream scale?

Two-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Laufey has signed an exclusive worldwide recording deal in a joint partnership between Interscope Records and Verve Records, both subsidiaries of Universal Music Group.
