That independent foundation led to her acclaimed debut full-length project, Rhinestoned, which featured fan favorites such as “Suburban Outlaw” and “Johnny Moonshine.”

Her arrival at Island Records comes as major imprints prioritize artists with proven organic engagement and live appeal. The move mirrors similar 2026 signings across the industry, including Warner Records adding viral standout Ryan Peter Murphy and Atlantic Records bringing on vocal group Soulidified to scale their touring reach.

On stage, Antone spent recent seasons cementing her status as a must-see live performer. She secured high-profile appearances at marquee gatherings including Stagecoach, Bonnaroo, and Bourbon & Beyond, while also hitting the road alongside established acts like Brent Cobb and Trampled by Turtles.

Takeaways

Antone’s move to Island Records highlights how the line between independent country and major-label pop/rock infrastructure continues to blur.

By partnering with a historically versatile label rather than a traditional Music Row country imprint, Antone positions herself to cross stylistic boundaries much like Noah Kahan or Zach Bryan.

The decision to retain WME and Sacks & Co. also shows that modern artists are choosing continuity in their day-to-day creative operations, relying on established personal relationships while simply tapping a major label for heavier international distribution and radio muscle.

Will Island Records preserve Antone’s gritty indie-Americana edge, or push her toward mainstream country-radio formats? Does signing with a diverse label like Island open up cross-genre collaborations outside traditional country markets?

Breakout singer-songwriter Maggie Antone has signed a major recording deal with Island Records, marking a pivotal step in her rapid ascent across the roots and alternative-country scene.
