He launched a solo career in 1976 with <em>Land of the Midnight Sun<\/em>, followed a year later by the gold-certified <em>Elegant Gypsy<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His 1981 acoustic summit with <a href=\"https:\/\/bookingagentinfo.com\/celebrity\/john-mclaughlin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">John McLaughlin<\/a> and Paco de Luc\u00eda, <em>Friday Night in San Francisco<\/em>, sold more than two million copies and remains a genre landmark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over a discography of 30-plus albums, he&#8217;s built a catalog that blends jazz, flamenco, tango, and Middle Eastern influences, earning a Grammy, multiple Guitar Player Magazine awards, and the Montreal Jazz Festival&#8217;s Miles Davis Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He&#8217;s not slowing down.
