The 2011 Heisman Trophy winner and former Baylor quarterback fronts Yahoo Sports&#8217; new &#8220;Back to School&#8221; campaign, launched August 3, 2026, to mark the debut of Yahoo College Fantasy Football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the 30-second spot, Griffin believes he&#8217;s earned a second shot at playing college ball. He moves back into the dorms, pulls all-nighters over playbooks, and runs drills like it&#8217;s game week, only to learn the &#8220;offer&#8221; was actually to play Yahoo College Fantasy Football, not run routes on Saturdays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Robert Griffin III Goes Back to College with Yahoo Fantasy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Uz2Hj8nlBLM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We all wish we could relive the college days,&#8221; Griffin said of the campaign. &#8220;We can&#8217;t actually go back to play college football, but by playing Yahoo College Fantasy Football, we can still take the W.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The spot, made with ad agency BBDO and directed by Mart\u00edn Holzman of production house Partizan, runs across Yahoo&#8217;s Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It builds on the recent launch of Yahoo College Fantasy Football, which covers the Power 4 conferences and Notre Dame with expanded rosters and a new team &#8220;Offense&#8221; position. Yahoo says more than a third of the game&#8217;s early registrants are first-timers to Yahoo Fantasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a fitting moment for Griffin, whose media career has stayed busy since leaving ESPN in 2024. He joined Fox Sports as a college football analyst in 2025, fronted Snickers&#8217; &#8220;SatisFORTUNES&#8221; campaign that same year, and in March announced he&#8217;s chasing a spot on the USA flag football team ahead of its 2028 Olympic debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Yahoo, the campaign continues a pattern of leaning on star power to sell its products. Earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/bookingagentinfo.com\/celebrity\/cardi-b\/endorsements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cardi B<\/a> fronted Yahoo Mail&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/bookingagentinfo.com\/news\/cardi-b-partners-with-yahoo-mail-for-ai-planner-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Cardi B Busy&#8221; AI Planner campaign<\/a>, and Yahoo Sports recently teamed up with Cameo to let fantasy players book personalized celebrity videos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Griffin&#8217;s campaign also lands the same summer <a href=\"https:\/\/bookingagentinfo.com\/celebrity\/saquon-barkley\/endorsements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Saquon Barkley<\/a> fronted a <a href=\"https:\/\/bookingagentinfo.com\/news\/saquon-barkley-partners-with-directv-for-national-campaign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">national campaign<\/a> for DIRECTV, a reminder of how central football-season tie-ins have become for brands right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Takeaways<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yahoo didn&#8217;t just cast a football name; it cast a punchline. Leaning into Griffin&#8217;s real &#8220;what if I could go back&#8221; nostalgia turns a fantasy football launch ad into a mini comedy sketch, a smarter play than a straight feature rundown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Timing matters too. Dropping the spot right as drafts open puts Griffin in front of fans at the exact moment they&#8217;re choosing where to play, not after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And Griffin keeps proving he&#8217;s more than a former No. 2 overall pick.
