The Miami Heat starting point guard is now backed by one of the most powerful sports agencies in the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mitchell, 27, came into his own during the 2025\u201326 NBA season, starting all 70 games, averaging 9.6 points and 6.5 assists, and setting a career high in blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His most defining performance came in Miami&#8217;s play-in loss to the Charlotte Hornets, where he dropped a team-high 28 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds in 47 minutes of overtime basketball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The former No. 9 overall pick entered the NBA in 2021 after a dominant final season at Baylor, where he helped lead the Bears to the first national championship in program history while sweeping National Defensive Player of the Year honors and earning All-America recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since turning pro, Mitchell has built a reputation as one of the league\u2019s tougher on-ball guards, with stops  with the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors before his February 2025 trade to Miami, a move that revived his career under coach Erik Spoelstra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After arriving in Miami at the 2025 trade deadline, he averaged 10.3 points in 30 regular-season games with the Heat, then returned on a two-year, $24 million deal that summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CAA has been moving decisively in the NBA space.
