TDE President Terrence “Punch” Henderson has stepped away from managing SZA, marking the end of their often turbulent manager-client relationship. SZA confirmed the split on Instagram, expressing that it was the end of an era and wishing Punch the best. She also emphasized that while they had grown apart, there was no ill will and asked her fans not to attack him. Despite this change, SZA reassured her audience that she remains focused on her music, particularly the extended version of Lana, and is working to ensure its release remains on track.

The split follows months of collaboration between SZA and Punch on her SOS album and its expansion. After the release of the 15-track addendum in December, SZA had pushed for the inclusion of more songs, sharing her thoughts on the matter in a lighthearted manner. Though Punch had initially hesitated, she expressed her gratitude for his support in bringing her vision to life.

Now that Punch has stepped away, SZA is reorganizing her plans moving forward. She acknowledged that some of the tracks they had discussed releasing together will still be launched, though the process has been a bit more complicated without his involvement.

While Punch was not her only manager, he played a key role in guiding SZA’s career as TDE’s president, having signed her as the label’s first female artist in 2013. Over the years, he took on much of the public criticism, allowing SZA to focus on her artistry without the added stress of external pressures.
