I am a web designer/developer and would really like to offer my service to build and manager a profession web site for celebrities. Specifically, Kiefer Sutherland and any other celebrities who might be interested but. I am not sure who to contact. Several months ago I contacted Mr. Sutherlands manager from 360 Management but did not get a response. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks, Tracy
The manager would be the best contact for this. I used to sell web design services to celebrities many years ago. I found success in targeting up and coming celebrities who didn't already have websites, and found that their management was much more responsive. Once you've built up a good clientele, many managers work with other people and you can use them as a reference, or they may get you to do the same for some of their other clients.
In my email to the manager, I would send a short email with what I'm offering in as few words as possible, and the benefits that I think it would provide to that celebrity. Its important to do research on that celeb, so you can target that pitch specifically for them. I would also include any previous work, and anybody that I have previously worked with that they might know.
One thing I never did, but I know of people doing was create the website for the celebrity before they even accepted it, and show it to them, and sell it to them based off of that. But this takes considerable work, and I wouldn't take that route.
Make sure that you ask for a deposit before you start working. In some cases, you may be difficult to get the other half of the deposit even if you had a deal or contract.
Hope that helps!
