I am sending a formal offer to a very large celebrity. It’s a one off type of deal on social media. Do I need to offer payment right away or can it be closer to the actual event?
I have had engagements with very prominent celebrities from the US without making any upfront payment. It depends on your social stature and who's introducing you.
As admin mentioned above, it's important to keep in mind that everything is negotiable.
If you haven't worked with the booking agency before, many of them ask for 100% up front. Stick to your guns and offer 50%. Nobody should have to pay 100% up front.
If it is for a very large celebrity, you will very likely need to offer at least 50% of the total payment up front, and pay the remaining balance once the work is completed. Also depending on the celebrity, they may ask for the entire fee up front. Its important to keep in mind that everything is negotiable
