Tanveer Wasim Safdar, who later took the name Tan France, is primarily known for his excellent fashion designing career. Later, Tan also ventured into the television entertainment industry and writing. After getting his degree in fashion, Tan started his career as a retail fashion designer for fashion chain Zara. But to gain experience in designing, wholesale manufacturing, and delivering he took jobs in major fashion companies like Bershka, Chanel, and Selfridges. He moved to America in 2015 after being appointed as the company director at Shade Clothing. Tan launched a very peculiar fashion line for women called ‘Kingdom & State’ that followed the Mormon clothing guidelines. His designs caught the eyes of retailers like Forever 21 and ModCloth. Tan next co-founded and became the CEO of Rachel Parcell Inc., the clothing line. Tan also hosted a web series titled ‘Dressing Dunny’ and co-hosted ‘Next In Fashion’ on Netflix. He published his memoir in 2019 titled ‘Naturally Tan’.
