Sam Larew, popularly known as Octane in the gaming community is a Call of Duty esports player and League All-star. He is known as one of the best ARs in the game. He is most prominent for his AR roles in Envy, Rise Nation, and Luminosity Teams.
Before he shot to fame as one of the best known ARs in the Call of Duty franchise, he was a YouTube sniper. He started competitive gaming in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. However, he took the gaming world by a storm during Advanced Warfare. He played for teams like Dream Team, Team JusTus, Prophesy NA, and Team EnVyUs before joining Elevate. With Team Elevate, Octane finished third in the AW Pro League.
He participated at the Toronto’s Invitational 2015 tournament with Rise Nation and finished 1st in Black Ops 3, defeating OpTic Gaming. Rise dropped exceptional performances at UMG South Carolina and ESWC in 2016, finishing 1st and 3rd.
After parting ways with Rise Nation, he joined Luminosity Gaming to play Infinite Warfare. He continued his gaming brilliance, but the team always fell short. Their best finish was 4th at the 2017 CWL Atlanta Open. Octane’s performances for Luminosity earned him an MVP award and solidified him as one of the best Infinite Warfare players.
He has been crowned MVP at the 2018 CWL Northern Arena Showdown and 2019 CWL London.
