José Manuel Mijares Morán (who’s popularly known as Mijares) is a Mexican singer and songwriter who was born on February 7th 1958 in Ciudad de México, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He was born and raised in Mexico.

Mijares started his career as a club performer in Japan before his debut album Soñador was released in 1986. Mijares gained stardom following the release of his twenty-fifth album in 2013. He has sung telenovela themes for Rebeca, Corazon salvaje and also the theme for Querida Enemiga which starred Gabriel Soto. Some of his well known albums include Cappuccino (2004), Honor a quien honor merece (2005), Swing en tu idioma (2007), Hablemos de amor (2008), Vivir asi (2009) and Vivir asi volumen II (2010).
