Luke James Wright is a former cricket player born on March 7, 1985, in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. He is best known for his explosive batting and medium-paced bowling. Luke started his professional career at Leicestershire but joined Sussex in 2004. His career began with remarkable achievements at a young age, including representing England in the Under-19 World Cup in 2004.
Luke gained prominence in 2007, earning a spot in England's International Twenty20 squad for the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship. He represented England in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Luke was part of the victorious team in the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.
Luke has played with several teams, such as Sussex in English county cricket, Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, and Pune Warriors India in the Indian Premier League. He won three Denis Compton medals with Sussex. Upon retiring in November 2022, Luke became a selector for the England men's team. He has worked as a batting consultant for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.
