Karen Clark Sheard is a gospel singer and songwriter born on the 15th of November 1960 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. The Grammy Award winner is the wife of J. Drew Sheard, who is currently the presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ. Her daughter Kierra Sheard, is also a singer and actress. After being involved in the Island Inspirational All Stars’ song “Don’t Give Up”, Sheard landed a recording contract with Island Records.
She started her solo career in 1997 with the release of her first live album, “Finally Karen”. The album was nominated for the Grammy Award in the category of Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album. In July 2002, she released her first studio album, titled “2nd Chance”. In 2003, she released her second studio album, “The Heavens Are Telling”, followed by the fourth album, “It’s Not Over”, in 2006. Her final album, “All in One”, was released in 2010.
